Parker Koch participated in the 2024 KMEA 1-2A State Honor Band in Wichita. They practiced all day Thursday and Friday with the performance on Saturday. The band sounded great! It is amazing what these students can accomplish. Two of the songs they performed were The Water is Wide by Swearingen and American Cameos by Dawson. Congratulations, Parker!

Another item I didn't get posted from Wednesday of this past week. I took some sophomores back up to HCC center to look at their Precision Ag, Welding, construction, diesel tech, and other programs. Education may at times be assessed in the form of an A,B,orC but in the end it's about gaining knowledge and skills. A high school diploma provides all of us options!

The following group of KAY members enjoyed the day at the Unit Conference held at Council Grove High School: Morgan Allen, Oen Deters, Tatum Kramer, Claire Heinen, Kynlee Orr, Tava Gibbs, Hayden Kramer, and Taylee Wells. As the current Area 3 President, Morgan was given the opportunity to share about her experience at last summer’s KAY Leadership Camp, encouraging other members to go, as well as speaking about the projects our organization has completed this year. Each member participated in a service project and group activities, and they heard two speakers who spoke about leadership in our schools and in our communities.
