Gradey Becker By Max Walters
On November 2nd of 2007, Gradey Becker was welcomed into this world by his parents, Royce and Monica Becker. He has three older brothers, Ethan, Corbin, and Maveryk. As well as a younger sister, Malayna. After graduating from Centralia High School, Gradey plans to start trucking for JED.
Throughout high school, Gradey has participated in many activities which include football, basketball and baseball. However, if he could pick his favorite activity it would be football. Gradey’s favorite memory in high school was winning at Pittsburg-Colgan for the 2024 Sectional football game. The Pittsburg-Colgan game was also one moment from high school that he would relive. Gradey had extra motivation because we weren’t voted to win and he stated that,”The crowd and game was electric.”
If Gradey was to decide which teacher was his most influential teacher he would choose Mrs. Whetzal. His most challenging part of high school was junior year. Throughout the year, he was always busy with homework, working the concession stand, and playing sports. Gradey had to make sure he was focused and stayed on top of his homework.
Gradey is well prepared for the next chapter of his life where he will start trucking for JED. High school has taught him to enjoy the moments and to get his stuff done on time. As Gradey’s time at Centralia is wrapping up, his advice to next year’s seniors is not to take time for granted and to have as much fun as possible without getting into too much trouble.

Gavin Fulkerson By Brynlee Koch
Gavin Lee Fulkerson was born in August of 2008 to Rachel Fulkerson. He is the youngest out of his three siblings Grant Fulkerson, Karis Larson, and his twin brother Kris Fulkerson. After high school Gavin will be attending Highland Community College to get his general education and possibly looking to become an electrician and will run cross country and track.
During his time in high school Gavin participated in cross country and track, three years at Centralia and one at Wetmore, KAYS, one year at Centralia and one year at Wetmore, scholars bowl, three years at Centralia and one year at Wetmore, and basketball, one year at Wetmore. His favorite extracurricular activity was cross country and track, which tied, because they were both individual and team sports. Gavin considered his greatest talent to be successfully ragebaiting the girls, because they get mad and the boys get hyped when they are successfully ragebaited.
One of his favorite high school memories came from running cross country his senior year and track his sophomore year. Gavin said, “Going to state senior year and medaling 16th, I was projected 26th and wasn’t supposed to medal. Also running the 4x800 with Henry and Brett Heideman my sophomore year.” After being asked what he would miss most about high school, Gavin said, “The support we get in sports at Centralia, I didn’t really feel the same support previously until I came over here.” Gavin admires his Grandpa because he taught him everything he knows and he has been the father figure that he didn’t really have.
Gavin said that his favorite teacher at Centralia had to be Mr. Crowther. “My favorite teacher at Centralia would probably be Mr. Crowther, he was welcoming when I first came to Centralia and I have enjoyed having him as a coach.” After Wetmore closed down Gavin’s freshman year, he transferred to Centralia. He said that one thing he would change about his high school experience is not switching schools his freshman year after Wetmore closed. He said that he wished he would have switched sooner.
The “perfect” future for Gavin would be being an electrician. He said he could picture himself becoming an electrician because he enjoys working with his hands and it’s a career choice he feels he would enjoy. Gavin wanted to leave the upcoming senior class with advice for their final year of high school. He said, “Create memories because senior year goes by fast. And try to stay occupied because you will be bored.”

Hunter Schober By Blair Wehling
Hunter Schober, the youngest of three, was brought into the world on October 9, 2007 by his loving parents, Debbie and Brandon Schober. He has two older sisters, Hanna and Emma. Throughout his high school years, Hunter participated in many different activities including, the school play, vocal and band. His favorite of the three is the band to which he put most of his time and effort into. The band also brings his favorite memory from high school. When he was involved in the pep band on a cold Friday night, his trombone slide froze so his dad had to help him get it unstuck. Hunter was asked if there were any moments that he would want to relive. He answered this by saying he would relive the moment when he found out about his good band rating that received him a medal. This was chosen because going to state band was a huge accomplishment and milestone for Hunter. Hunter then began to talk about how he had many mentors to look up to but the one that impacted him the most was Mrs. Schroller. She helped him improve and step out of his comfort zone while also growing his passion for band. Hunter has been very inspired by her over the last three years and he feels that without her he wouldn’t be where he is now in the band. Throughout high school Hunter has had many challenges. He explained that with a visual impairment it was hard to pinpoint just one challenge. Hunter's high school years brought him lots of knowledge as well. He has taken multiple business classes which have prepared him heavily for job interviews and investing in the future. The high schoolers in Centralia may know Hunter for his accomplishments in class but something that not a lot of people know is that outside of the classroom he has been reading braille for 13 years and goes to braille challenges every few years. Hunter’s overall experience was described as okay and like all high school experiences there are ups and downs. His advice for upcoming seniors is to enjoy the year while it lasts. It may look like a long run at the beginning of the year but in the blink of an eye, the year comes to an end.

Kieryn Rose Franklin, daughter of Kristi and Irving Franklin was born on June 26, 2008. She lives in Corning, Kansas and has one older sister, Kiara, two younger sisters, Kya and Khloe, and two younger brothers, Kaden and Kobe. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Kansas as a major in biochemistry to become an anesthesiologist. She will stay in the dorms for her first year and hopes to rush in the fall.
Kieryn has been very involved in sports and other extracurriculars throughout her high school career. She participated in volleyball, dance, cheerleading and has been an active member of FBLA, KAYS, SADD, and NHS. Her favorite extracurricular activities were cheer and dance. She says “dance and cheer are my favorite because I have made so many memories and will miss messing around at practice with my friends”.
Kieryn's most influential teacher throughout high school has been Mrs. Poe because she has helped her learn so much about FBLA. She says “Mrs. Poe has pushed me out of my comfort zone and showed me how to be a leader and role model for others around me”. When the FBLA club started Kieryn's sophomore year, she decided to take the opportunity, and has learned many life skills to prepare her for the future and is currently serving as the chapter president.
The most challenging part of high school for Kieryn was making sure that she kept up with all of her school work while also working to save for college. She feels that high school has prepared her for the future because she has learned to multitask between different classes and homework while also focusing on extracurriculars. Her advice for the incoming senior class is “don’t wish the year away because it will be over before you know it”. Kieryn believes that high school goes from reality to memories faster than you can imagine. She says “It is very important to embrace all of the opportunities you have before they are gone”.
Kieryn's favorite memory from high school was going to state basketball last year to cheer for the girls on the basketball team. She said “I had so much fun going shopping and spending the weekend with my best friends”. When asked what high school moment she would relive if she could, she said “If I could relive a moment from high school, it would be taking senior class pictures out at the lake because we could barely stay serious enough to take one photo”. Kieryn believes that spending time with her classmates is the reason she has made it through the long days at school.
One word Kieryn would use to describe her high school experience is memorable because it was full of both ups and downs. Kieryn is ready to open a new chapter as she goes off to college at the University of Kansas to pursue her degree. She will not only take the skills she has learned here at Centralia, but she will take the memories, friendships, and life lessons that have shaped her into who she is today.

Tyler Jones by Carter Lasky
Tyler Jones was born on October 4, 2007, to Travis and Carolyn Jones. He grew up with six older siblings, Amaris, Sadie, Tamra, Turner, Karly, and Eve. Tyler is a part of the Centralia High School Class of 2026.
Throughout high school, Tyler was in several sports. He played basketball for all four years, track for one year, golf for three years, and football for one year. Out of all the sports Tyler has been in golf has been his favorite. Tyler has gone to state twice already and hopes to make it there again this year.
When asked about his favorite high school memory, Tyler said it was going to the state golf tournament during his sophomore year and staying at the hotel with the team. Spending time with his teammates made it a very memorable moment. In fact, if he could relive any moment from high school, it would be hanging out with those guys at the hotel during the state golf trip.
The most influential teacher for Tyler has been Mr. Evans. Tyler said Coach Evans has been with him through basketball and golf. Tyler describes him as a very genuine coach who would do anything for anybody.
High school was not always easy. Tyler said the most challenging part was his freshman year because it felt very different from junior high and many people did not like his class at the time. Even with the pressure Tyler made it through the year.
Tyler believes high school helped prepare him for the future by holding him accountable. It taught him to get stuff done.
Outside of school, Tyler enjoys riding four-wheelers at the sand dunes and spending time with his friends.
After graduation, Tyler plans to start working right away, and hopefully getting married.
Tyler’s piece of advice, for next year's seniors, enjoy your time. Try not to get tired of school because you will miss it more than you think.
If Tyler had to describe his high school experience in one word, he would call it a rollercoaster. There were plenty of ups and downs, but he enjoyed the memories he made.

Claire Heinen By Caylie McKee
Claire Lyn Heinen was born on February 5, 2008. She is the daughter of Ron and Chantel Heinen, and a sister to Tyler and Marcus. A little about Claire is that she likes meeting new people and traveling to new places. After she graduates from Centralia High School she plans on attending Washburn University to major in communications, and get a minor in journalism. She hopes to pursue a career as a news anchor.
The clubs that Claire is involved in are KAY’S, FCCLA, and SADD for four years. And the sports that she likes the most are volleyball and softball. Claire has played volleyball and basketball for all four years, softball for two, and track for one. If she had to pick one sport to be her favorite Claire would pick volleyball because she gets to be with all her friends doing the sport that she loves the most. The most influential teacher that Claire had, was Mrs. Lora Whetzal. Even though she retired a couple of years ago, she made an impact on Claire’s education. She made learning, especially English, enjoyable and always had a positive attitude. Mrs. Whetzal’s energy made students enjoy coming to class.
When asked what the best advice would be for the upcoming seniors, Claire said “Live in the moment with your friends and don’t take it for granted because it goes fast.” Her favorite high school memory would have to be from Junior year in Algebra 2. Meleah and Claire would talk and joke around so much that they would get completely off track. Even though they probably should have been paying more attention, those moments made the class unforgettable and full of laughter.
The most challenging part of high school for Claire would be balancing schoolwork, sports, and other extracurriculars. She said there were times where it felt a little overwhelming, but it helped her manage her time well and stay organized. By pushing through those challenges, she said it helped her be more responsible and prepared for the future.
If Claire had to describe high school in one word it would be interesting. One reason she said this is because you meet people that you never thought would meet. Another reason is that one second you are stressed about a project and the next second you are laughing with your friends at the lunch table. She said you never know what is going to happen next.
Claire Heinen’s high school journey has been filled with growth, meaningful experiences, and lasting memories. From her involvement in sports and activities to the relationships she made with friends and teachers, she has made the most of her time at Centralia High School.
