Today we celebrated some great accomplishments within our Panther Family. Two students from Centralia High School were selected as top 3 finalists and winners of a Financial Literacy Essay Contest sponsored by the Kansas Department of Insurance through the Kansas Council on Economic Education. Kansas Insurance Commissioner, Vicki Schmidt, announced Parker Koch as the 3rd place winner, and Morgan Allen as the 1st place winner. Parker was awarded $2,000 and Morgan was awarded $5,000. In addition, Morgan will be entered in a follow-up essay contest. The essay prompt was "If you were given $100,000 dollars today to invest for your future, what would you do with it? Describe how you would invest the money and how it would further your overall financial goals." The scholarship money will be put into a 529 account to be used for future education expenses. Great job to students, faculty, and parents for these accomplishments.

This past weekend was the final performance of Radio Daze. Students Did a great job of performing in the play and we love how the play is part of the culture of learning here in Centralia. Lots of people to thank for putting in the time and effort but the two main people are Mr. Conley and Mrs. Whetzal. Mrs. Whetsal had her final year as Co-director as life is moving her into some new chapters. Mrs. Whetzal is loved by all the students and has truly made some huge impacts here at Centralia schools. Thank you Mrs. Whetzal. To Mr. Conley and the younger students- The Show must go on :)
