Kieryn Rose Franklin, daughter of Kristi and Irving Franklin was born on June 26, 2008. She lives in Corning, Kansas and has one older sister, Kiara, two younger sisters, Kya and Khloe, and two younger brothers, Kaden and Kobe. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Kansas as a major in biochemistry to become an anesthesiologist. She will stay in the dorms for her first year and hopes to rush in the fall.
Kieryn has been very involved in sports and other extracurriculars throughout her high school career. She participated in volleyball, dance, cheerleading and has been an active member of FBLA, KAYS, SADD, and NHS. Her favorite extracurricular activities were cheer and dance. She says “dance and cheer are my favorite because I have made so many memories and will miss messing around at practice with my friends”.
Kieryn's most influential teacher throughout high school has been Mrs. Poe because she has helped her learn so much about FBLA. She says “Mrs. Poe has pushed me out of my comfort zone and showed me how to be a leader and role model for others around me”. When the FBLA club started Kieryn's sophomore year, she decided to take the opportunity, and has learned many life skills to prepare her for the future and is currently serving as the chapter president.
The most challenging part of high school for Kieryn was making sure that she kept up with all of her school work while also working to save for college. She feels that high school has prepared her for the future because she has learned to multitask between different classes and homework while also focusing on extracurriculars. Her advice for the incoming senior class is “don’t wish the year away because it will be over before you know it”. Kieryn believes that high school goes from reality to memories faster than you can imagine. She says “It is very important to embrace all of the opportunities you have before they are gone”.
Kieryn's favorite memory from high school was going to state basketball last year to cheer for the girls on the basketball team. She said “I had so much fun going shopping and spending the weekend with my best friends”. When asked what high school moment she would relive if she could, she said “If I could relive a moment from high school, it would be taking senior class pictures out at the lake because we could barely stay serious enough to take one photo”. Kieryn believes that spending time with her classmates is the reason she has made it through the long days at school.
One word Kieryn would use to describe her high school experience is memorable because it was full of both ups and downs. Kieryn is ready to open a new chapter as she goes off to college at the University of Kansas to pursue her degree. She will not only take the skills she has learned here at Centralia, but she will take the memories, friendships, and life lessons that have shaped her into who she is today.

Tyler Jones by Carter Lasky
Tyler Jones was born on October 4, 2007, to Travis and Carolyn Jones. He grew up with six older siblings, Amaris, Sadie, Tamra, Turner, Karly, and Eve. Tyler is a part of the Centralia High School Class of 2026.
Throughout high school, Tyler was in several sports. He played basketball for all four years, track for one year, golf for three years, and football for one year. Out of all the sports Tyler has been in golf has been his favorite. Tyler has gone to state twice already and hopes to make it there again this year.
When asked about his favorite high school memory, Tyler said it was going to the state golf tournament during his sophomore year and staying at the hotel with the team. Spending time with his teammates made it a very memorable moment. In fact, if he could relive any moment from high school, it would be hanging out with those guys at the hotel during the state golf trip.
The most influential teacher for Tyler has been Mr. Evans. Tyler said Coach Evans has been with him through basketball and golf. Tyler describes him as a very genuine coach who would do anything for anybody.
High school was not always easy. Tyler said the most challenging part was his freshman year because it felt very different from junior high and many people did not like his class at the time. Even with the pressure Tyler made it through the year.
Tyler believes high school helped prepare him for the future by holding him accountable. It taught him to get stuff done.
Outside of school, Tyler enjoys riding four-wheelers at the sand dunes and spending time with his friends.
After graduation, Tyler plans to start working right away, and hopefully getting married.
Tyler’s piece of advice, for next year's seniors, enjoy your time. Try not to get tired of school because you will miss it more than you think.
If Tyler had to describe his high school experience in one word, he would call it a rollercoaster. There were plenty of ups and downs, but he enjoyed the memories he made.

Claire Heinen By Caylie McKee
Claire Lyn Heinen was born on February 5, 2008. She is the daughter of Ron and Chantel Heinen, and a sister to Tyler and Marcus. A little about Claire is that she likes meeting new people and traveling to new places. After she graduates from Centralia High School she plans on attending Washburn University to major in communications, and get a minor in journalism. She hopes to pursue a career as a news anchor.
The clubs that Claire is involved in are KAY’S, FCCLA, and SADD for four years. And the sports that she likes the most are volleyball and softball. Claire has played volleyball and basketball for all four years, softball for two, and track for one. If she had to pick one sport to be her favorite Claire would pick volleyball because she gets to be with all her friends doing the sport that she loves the most. The most influential teacher that Claire had, was Mrs. Lora Whetzal. Even though she retired a couple of years ago, she made an impact on Claire’s education. She made learning, especially English, enjoyable and always had a positive attitude. Mrs. Whetzal’s energy made students enjoy coming to class.
When asked what the best advice would be for the upcoming seniors, Claire said “Live in the moment with your friends and don’t take it for granted because it goes fast.” Her favorite high school memory would have to be from Junior year in Algebra 2. Meleah and Claire would talk and joke around so much that they would get completely off track. Even though they probably should have been paying more attention, those moments made the class unforgettable and full of laughter.
The most challenging part of high school for Claire would be balancing schoolwork, sports, and other extracurriculars. She said there were times where it felt a little overwhelming, but it helped her manage her time well and stay organized. By pushing through those challenges, she said it helped her be more responsible and prepared for the future.
If Claire had to describe high school in one word it would be interesting. One reason she said this is because you meet people that you never thought would meet. Another reason is that one second you are stressed about a project and the next second you are laughing with your friends at the lunch table. She said you never know what is going to happen next.
Claire Heinen’s high school journey has been filled with growth, meaningful experiences, and lasting memories. From her involvement in sports and activities to the relationships she made with friends and teachers, she has made the most of her time at Centralia High School.

Melissa Kramer
By Taryn Osterhaus and Isabella Hipp
Melissa Marie Kramer was welcomed into this world on October 26, 2007 by April and Travis Kramer. Melissa has one older brother, Devon Feldkamp. She is a Centralia High School Graduate of 2026. Melissa's plans after high school include working at the Baileyville Vet Clinic, while taking online vet tech classes.
Throughout all four years of her high school career she has participated in cheerleading, FFA, and the school play. While in FFA she served as an officer all four years. During freshman and sophomore year she ran for cross country and competed for scholars bowl. Other activities include softball for two years, forensics and track for one. Melissa has also gone to Highland her junior and senior year for welding. Although she is not going into welding after graduation she enjoys participating and values the friendships she has made.
During Melissa’s four years of high school, her favorite memory was taking Mr. Crowther's computer class with all of her classmates. She may have or may not have paid attention in class due to her finding the game Solitaire on the desktops. Instead of learning Microsoft, she spent her time getting into trouble while trying to beat her high score. Melissa said, “I might not remember all the shortcuts on the keyboard, but I can confidently say my Solitaire skills are top-tier.”
If Melissa could relive one moment from high school she would like to perform her school plays all over again. She explained performing was a big part of her last four years. She grew friendships while also facing one of her biggest fears. A fun fact about Melissa is she loves writing. Whether it is a short story or a letter she finds it the easiest and best way to express herself.
The most influential teacher or mentor during her time at Centralia High School was Mr. Wade Talley. No matter how big of an attitude Melissa carried, Wade Talley would never give up on her. He looked out for Melissa when her grades were not the best. He pushed her to be her best self and to reach her full potential.
Advice Melissa would give to the upcoming senior class, includes working hard to make sure things don't get in the way of school work. Melissa stated, “High school was chaotic because I had so many activities going on and just wanted to be out of high school.” She advises students to slow down because you still have to pass in order to graduate.

Landon Heller
By Landon Beck
On December 24, 2007, Landon Heller was welcomed into the world by Lacey Niehues (Tim) and Lance Heller (Kendra). Landon has three siblings: Quinn, Bennett, and Ty. After high school, he plans to apply for an apprenticeship to become an electrician.
Throughout high school, Landon has been involved in many sports, including football, basketball, golf, and track. Some of his favorite experiences came through sports, where he built friendships with students from both Centralia and Wetmore. One of his favorite high school memories was going to state with the boys and cheering on the teams.
Landon would like to thank all of his teachers, especially Misty Poe, who taught him valuable lessons about his financial future. One of his biggest challenges came during his junior year, when he faced a difficult English class that required him to stay on top of his work. He learned to take things one day at a time and eventually found his rhythm.
To next year’s seniors, Landon offers this advice: “Senior year goes by fast, so make sure to enjoy every second of it. You’ll make a lot of memories and have a lot of fun.” When asked to describe his high school experience in one word, Landon chose enjoyable because of the friendships he formed and the memories he made, especially after changing schools.
Landon is ready to take on the next chapter of his life as he pursues an apprenticeship to become an electrician. He will carry with him everything he has learned from both Wetmore and Centralia, along with the memories, friendships, and life lessons that will guide him as he takes on the responsibilities of the real world.
