Centralia basketball protocols with KSHSAA new ruling

Parents:

The KSHSAA board of directors met yesterday and changed the ruling on spectators at basketball games.  The following was adopted:

Effective Thursday, December 10 through January 28, 2021, interscholastic activities will allow for attendance of up to two parents/guardians per participant(s) family as allowed by local board of education or health department restrictions.

The current interpretation of participants include:

· Players

· Coaches (can be spouse)

· Student Managers

· Cheer squads

· Dance teams

· Pep bands

· Student Journalists

To clarify who can attend, only 2 parents/guardians per participant(s) family.  So if you have 3 participants you are only allowed 2 parents/guardians (not 6 parents/guardians can attend). ONLY parents and legal guardians are allowed on the pass gate---no substitutions.  Your names will be on a pass list when you arrive at the admission gate. We do ask that you work with us on helping to mitigate the virus. MASKS MUST BE WORN and social distance the best you all can.  Also if all possible, just attend the games that your son/daughter are playing in. We want this to be a positive/safe environment for all attending.

***   In live streaming games, we will have the pixellot NFHS camera (subscription required) operating in the south gym and we will have the north gym streamed on facebook (no subscription required.)  Bsquared will also be broadcasting the HS varsity only basketball games in the south gym. Bsquared is on facebook and no subscription is required.  Most of the TVL schools have NFHS and will be streaming from there.  The other schools will stream using their own platform and we will notify you before the game what the games will be streamed on.  We know how important it will be for parents/community to watch games so we will do all we can to make that happen.  Attached to this email is the flyer to sign up for NFHS.

***   There will be concessions at home games.

Thanks again for all your understanding and if you have any questions let me know.
