As we begin to wind down another school year, I want to take the opportunity to thank students, staff, patrons and all community members for the chance to lead the district over the past three years.
For our teachers and staff, this is an exciting time to be an educator. Our world is racing and innovations are occurring before we have the chance to understand the technology in use. Our staff is learning to be prepared to meet these ever-changing needs, and our students are eager to learn new and innovative ways of learning and acquiring further information. It has indeed been my pleasure to serve the district, and I will carry the memories forward as I enter a new educational challenge with the Kansas State Department of Education in Topeka, as the Director of Teacher Licensure and Accreditation. USD 380’s new Superintendent will be blessed with overwhelming support to continue the work and goals set forth by the board of education.
On another note, as we near the end of the school year, we encourage parents to stay involved with their students, monitor their use of social media, and to encourage good rest and healthy habits. These are challenging times for our young people to maneuver, and continual parental and school support is paramount to the success of each of our students.
Again, thank you for your support, and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to do “What’s Best for Kids,” in USD 380 Vermillion.
