In a continuing effort to properly secure all district buildings and keep students and staff protected, USD 380 is implementing new entrance procedures for all district buildings.  We understand and encourage the utilization of our schools by members of the community and want to improve the availability.  Please understand that with any change, comes some obstacles that need to be addressed.  If an issue arises with the new procedures, please contact your school administrator so we can solve it correctly. All buildings will have a buzz-in system with a camera that will be utilized at the main entrance.  Certain entrances will have a card reader that unlocks the doors for individual use by staff.  Cards will also be available to check out for community functions taking place in the school buildings on an event by event basis.

  • During school hours, all doors will be locked.  Visitors should report to the main entrance to be buzzed in, then sign in at the office and receive a visitor’s pass.  Signage will be posted with building specific procedures.
  • Community members who have a planned event in the school building will need to contact the school office to inquire about checking out a card.  The card will provide access into the school building and will need to be returned.  Cards may be checked out for a certain period of time with approval from administration.

Thank you in advance for understanding that while this change will take some time to iron out, it will help ensure the safety of everyone involved with the USD 380 family and its facilities.  Please feel free to contact Matt Rogers, Superintendent of Schools, at 785-382-6216 with any questions you may have.
